Known as the city where Viriato was born, Viseu is considered one of the cities with the highest quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this short itinerary we try to get to know a little about this area and its history, highlighting the places you can't miss!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Discover the streets of the historic center of viseu<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The historic area, as is common, is all connected by streets, lanes and small paths. Consequently, we start by recommending that you park your car and walk through the various streets, venturing into the unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On this short route you will find fountains, gardens, museums, historic landmarks and various artistic installations. It is located in a large square, facing the Miseric\u00f3rdia church mentioned above and next to the Gr\u00e3o Vasco National Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It consists of an imposing Church, with two towers, and with an interior that dazzles with its grandeur and detail. You can visit out of hours if you do it during worship hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bear in mind that this Cathedral is extremely dark, so taking pictures with cameras will be difficult, and flash is not an option because there are always people inside. In our case, being visited during worship hours, we had to opt for the cell phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next to it we find the Gr\u00e3o Vasco National Museum, former episcopal residence, currently converted. This consists of a large building, filled with different rooms, where a large collection of national treasures of different types can be found.<br>You can visit this museum from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm, with an entry cost of \u20ac4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:31px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter has-custom-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rotadoamanha.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Viseu_2-1024x410.png\" alt=\"Interior S\u00e9 Centro Hist\u00f3rico de Viseu\" style=\"border-width:3px;border-radius:20px\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n<!-- Verticais laterais -->\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4062967657049718\" data-ad-slot=\"8857927712\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:43px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Viseu's Misericordia Church and Misericordia Treasure Museum<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Opposite the Cathedral, we find another large church: the Miseric\u00f3rdia Church, where the Treasure of Miseric\u00f3rdia Museum is located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Built in the 16th century, it underwent major requalification in the 18th century, taking on the shape it has today. Inside the Church with two towers, the pipe organ from the 18th century stands out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The museum, in turn, has more than a hundred objects inside, seeking to praise and remember those who helped and integrated this institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The church is open daily from 9:30am to 12:30pm and from 2pm to 5:30pm. The Museum, in turn, is open from 10 am to 12:30 pm and from 2 pm to 5:30 pm, with the possibility of extended hours depending on the time of year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>mothers garden and tile panel<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of our favorite parts of Viseu is the amount of gardens you can find all over the city. Among them, the Mothers Garden stands out, built next to the Museum of Almeida Moreira. This small garden, extremely well maintained, fills the region with greenery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between this garden and the grand Pra\u00e7a da Rep\u00fablica, we find the so-called Panel of Tiles. This grandiose panel, dated 1931, was created in Vila Nova de Gaia and demonstrates, through five representations, country life and typical costumes.<br>Afterwards, we recommend a visit to Pra\u00e7a da Rep\u00fablica to relax and drink a coffee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter has-custom-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rotadoamanha.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Viseu_4-1024x410.png\" alt=\"Painel de Azulejos\" style=\"border-width:3px;border-radius:20px\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:39px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>soar door and chapel of our lady of medicine<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Porta do Soar is one of the seven entrances to Viseu through the medieval wall. Built in the 15th century, this door, despite its simple appearance, has great historical value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From here it is possible to observe the grand city wall, considered an Alfonsine wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, next to this entrance we find the Capela de Nossa Senhora dos Rem\u00e9dios, a small octagonal chapel. This was built in the 18th century through handouts from the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can visit its interior, decorated with tiles and gilded carving, daily from 10am to 7pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div
