Known as the Little Portuguese Tibet, Sistelo has become known for its unique terraces, which envelop the entire village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is in this peculiarity of scenery, classified as a National Monument, that the villagers dedicate themselves to agriculture and livestock. However, despite the beauty of the landscape, the village in itself is small, with only a few roads and houses, therefore, it can be visited in a few hours.\u00a0<br><ins style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4062967657049718\" data-ad-slot=\"8857927712\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:44px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n<!-- Verticais laterais -->\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4062967657049718\" data-ad-slot=\"8857927712\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Sistelo is one of the 7 Wonder Villages of Portugal<\/strong>winner in the Rural Village category<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:18px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rotadoamanha.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/elementor\/thumbs\/Sistelo_1-pk4n70bwlkm4y1ecvjn7v648bwzj0vqldf24ph96v4.jpg\" alt=\"Paisagem de Sistelo\" title=\"Sistelo_1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the village with medieval origins, you can visit, for example, the <strong>Castel House<\/strong> (a two-tower house that stands out from the rest), the<strong> Parish Church<\/strong>, the <strong>'lavadouro'<\/strong>, the <strong>granaries<\/strong> and the <strong>Sistelo River Beach<\/strong>. Additionally, we recommend taking the Sistelo Walkways trail (post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotadoamanha.com\/en\/passadicos-sistelo\/\">here<\/a>) and visit the several <strong>viewpoints<\/strong> , such as the Ch\u00e3 da Armada viewpoint.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bear in mind that the viewpoints are all at least 1km on foot from the village, so we recommend bringing the necessary clothes for this short walk \u2013 in summer this village reaches very high temperatures, where jeans are not a good choice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Known as Little Portuguese Tibet, the landscape of Sistelo is classified as a National Monument.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, there are several other <strong>trails<\/strong>, which allow a better view of the village and its terraces. You can consult the information leaflet with the main information <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmav.pt\/cmarcos\/uploads\/writer_file\/document\/1380\/sistelo_folheto.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In our case, we chose to do the <strong>Passadi\u00e7os Trail<\/strong>, a small trail of approximately 2 km, which passes through the River Beach of Sistelo (perfect for cooling off on the hottest days) and the Walkways of Ecovia do Vez. Afterwards, we did the <strong>Bridges Trail<\/strong>, about 1km long, and which passes through a set of medieval bridges in the village. Both are good routes to see the most natural part of the village.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>onde comer em Sistelo<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rotadoamanha.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/elementor\/thumbs\/Sistelo_Comida-pk4nhdhtyssyz8cbciy3v1y85vw8wpw14q1w8bvw8w.jpg\" alt=\"Comida\" title=\"Sistelo_Comida\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As for places to eat in Sistelo, there is a cafe-restaurant and two restaurants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, the caf\u00e9-restaurant, called <strong>Solar do Visconde<\/strong>, is located further into the village, next to Castel House, and is easily found.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also <strong>Cantinho do Abado<\/strong>, a restaurant with a beautiful terrace, and the <strong>Tasquinha da Ti\u00b4M\u00e9lia<\/strong>, where we ate and loved it <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this second, we opted for the fried cod with tomato rice and it was amazing. In both these restaurants it is not possible to make reservations, at least at the time we visited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A little further away from the village, there are other restaurants, such as the <strong>Recanto D\u2019 Av\u00f3<\/strong>, where they end up avoiding the confusion of those who visit Sistelo.<br><ins style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4062967657049718\" data-ad-slot=\"8857927712\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:42px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">how to get there and where to park<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rotadoamanha.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/elementor\/thumbs\/Sistelo_2-pk4nnqugaditkrmba2cl20wp14sytosatk4sx94uf4.jpg\" alt=\"Placa 7 Maravilhas\" style=\"width:383px;height:510px\" width=\"383\" height=\"510\" title=\"Sistelo_2\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite being a small village in an area further away from the Peneda-Ger\u00eas National Park, this region is easily reached. The roads are good and so is the path, and the GPS has no problem getting there.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the car cannot enter the village, so you must park in the area where there is a sign indicating that the village won the 7 Wonders of Portugal Villages award, a few meters before the village.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the parking available: on the side of the main access road to the village. The car is on the side of the road, off the road and without great risk. From here, <strong>head to the village on foot<\/strong>, and this is how it should be visited.<br><ins style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4062967657049718\" data-ad-slot=\"8857927712\"
